Cypress Skiing - May 7

This winter season was above average for snow. Still lots of white stuff around for a tour at Cypress.

Cypress Skiing

After the hill closed I get first tracks on corduroy but I had to work for it! Coverage on Colins and Panorama was surprisingly good (only a couple of thin spots at the bottom) despite only 50% snowpack this year (April 16th). I made good use of my season pass, with 22 days (half-days) of downhill, almost 300 runs and 15 cross country sessions (short ones only... I find skating rather exhausting and the longest I skated this year was 2 hours).

Winter is back - May 16th

Ooops, apparently winter is not over yet. 30 cm fresh snow at Cypress. Went up for a morning run. Snow was a bit heavy but I got some turns in. Still snowing higher up but rain lower down so I didn't go up for seconds.

More Snow, Lots of it!

This was the best lift skiing day this year. Cypress had 182 cm new snow in one week.
The snow stayed cold and fluffy until I was tired and left after 4 hours. What a treat for March (well, what a treat for lift skiing in general)! I think I'll get a pass again next year.
