XC season has definitely started in the Fraser Valley. Sweet but slow triangle from Benny (47km, 3:50). First Pete chases me, then he takes a short cut at Pattison and I chase him. Strong climbs (none-averaged +6m/s) along the first leg. Later thick high overcast comes in and requires 'survival' scratching to find some weak thermals and makes for a slow return trip. Climbs are not very high so the route over the back is out of the question (mostly around 1200 m). At the end a very curious juvenile eagle comes a bit too close for my comfort over Dewdney. Thankfully very little wind.
